Land of Raja’s

We are sailing through Selat Kelang (Kelang Strait) with a northerly breeze and the current against us. A very special scent comes from land. It smells like clove.
We are entering the Spice Islands, filled with history of Sultans and traders, Spice Wars and conquerors, Portuguese, Spanish and Dutch.

And we look back into the wake we leave behind.
We have spent the last month and a half in Raja Ampat, enjoying its remoteness and mostly we have discovered the beauty of its waters and marine life.
Enjoying some of the most beautiful anchorages we have been in throughout our trip and spending hours in the water, snorkeling and diving for nudibranchs and pygmy seahorses.

We shall be arriving in Ambon, the capital of the Maluku’s or Moluccas tomorrow Monday. It is Chinese New Year and a national holiday in Indonesia but we will try to eat out in town.
We have had no fruit or vegetables for the last 3 weeks and crave for some pineapple or any green stuff.

If we find internet access, we will share some of the pictures we have had the chance to take lately.

All good on board.
